The CMT 230.524.08 8-inch dado set delivers precise dado, groove, and rabbet cuts ranging from 1/4" to 29/32", providing a reliable foundation for cabinet construction and fine furniture joinery.

Fitted with a standard 5/8" arbor, this kit pairs two 24-tooth carbide-tipped outer blades with multiple chippers, steel spacers, and precision shims. The modular layout allows you to dial in exact channel widths without trial and error. CMT integrates Setting Points™ directly onto the assembly, which aligns each chipper tooth against the corresponding outer blade to remove setup guesswork and ensure repeatable accuracy. All cutting edges feature an Orange Shield Coating that actively reduces thermal load, pitches out resin buildup, and prevents corrosion during extended shop sessions.

The carbide geometry remains sharp through hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, veneered panels, melamine, and laminated surfaces, leaving clean, flat-bottomed grooves ideal for shelf pin channels or edge joinery. The balanced stack mounts directly into most stationary table saws and radial arm saws, maintaining safe operational clearances and kickback resistance on safety-equipped systems like SawStop®.
