Byrd Shelix Head for Powermatic 54A 6" Jointer
This version of the Byrd Shelix cutterhead fits all Powermatic model 54A 6" Jointers and is a direct drop in not requiring any modification.
Some places will tell you there are two versions but there are not, this machine has always used the metric one. We've been at this 18 years and have never had an issue with the model 54A.
Each head features 5 rows of 15mm 4-sided carbide inserts with 8 per row. Each head also comes with a pack of some extras and hand tool. When replacing or rotating the inserts it's recommended that they be torqued to 45 inch pounds.
